When transfering VHS via a videograbber to PD12 the picture shows a horizontal distortion line along the bottom of the monitor. This distortion is also produced and burnt onto the DVD. How can I get rid of this anoying distortion??

You cannot.

That is caused by mismatch between the recording VCR and the VCR that is used for playback (Tracking error).

The actual capture of the video by your capture device also affects the distortion. Your device may be capturing more Vertical lines than the VCR is playing back.

You could crop the video to drop out the bottom the picture. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Hi!
Thanks for info.
By the way, when playing back the VCR to a TV this distortion is not to be seen.
How do I crop the video inorder to drop the bottom Picture?

This horizontal noise range below is characteristic of VHS tapes, the tube TV "4x3" has no problem TV makes the cut as standard.

The LCD monitor and digital TV shows everything so if you want to delete this, need to expand the image hiding the defects out of the visible area.

In PD13, the way I think easy.

Select the video in the timeline, see the preview screen is displayed white ball to each side of the image.

Click on the ball, hold and drag out enough to disappear the defect.

Click the image, hold and drag to center the image.

The setting is applied to all video.

If you have more videos to do the same.

You can do one by one or Copy / Paste Attributes
