"zoomed in" bluray result
[Post New]
On my ongoing roadtrip holiday project I found some problems I'd had with the display of maps on dvd were not an issue on bluray, so I created a bluray disk to basically check I was happy with the edit.

(For the record I filmed the material on my Panasonic 700SD in HA mode which I think is 1920x1080 50i 17mbps) and on the PowerDirector's Produce page I selected H.264 1920x1080 50i 24 mbps.

When I got to the Create Disk page I noticed that the Smartfit option used up more of the disk, so I thought I'd try that. Unfortunately when I came to try the disk, the video kept freezing, but sound continued normally though.

I thought it was probably the Smartfit option that had caused the problem so I used the same exported file but this time, on the Create Disk screen, I chose the (Bluray Disc) - HD 1920x1080 50i setting and stayed away from Smartfit.

No video freezing this time, but for some strange reason, the display was zoomed in somewhat, so I was missing quite a lot of the material around the edges.

I noticed when I had originally got to the Create Disk page it was suggesting it would use about half the disk, but since then it has displayed it would use about 80%, I wonder if the page has got a bit confused with my save file?

I would appreciate your thoughts, guys.

Cheers.

Update for the record.

It looks like PowerDirector did get confused in some way.

I exported the file again at 1920 1080 50i 24mbps and then on the Create disk selected the same setting as my export (keeping well away from Smartfit) and the disk plays fine with no image zoom and no video freezing.

And the indicator at the bottom left of the page indicated I was only using about half of the disk - around 13 gbs. Previously (after messing around with Smartfit) it would not go below about 80% on the option I wanted to use.

I don't know if I messed up or if its a bug but it seems like clicking on Smartfit to increase the file size may confused Powerdirector and the susbsequent save file so that when I later tried to write the disk again (without the Smartfit) option things still got messed up (a zoomed in image on this occasion).
