missing media file in project causing problems

I created a project, came back to it a number of months later and between time I must have deleted several media files that were in that project media folder but not in the movie itself. Now, everytime I open the project it tells me PowerDirector cannot open this media file because it was moved or is missing.
Is there a way to remove the item from the project so I don't get this error?
At the same time I created a custom menu and when I try to edit or modify it I get blown out of the program completely and think this may have something to do with it.

This is only a possibility.
If you created temporary files when did your project may be missing now because PD delete these after 30 days.
Temporary files, can be extracted photo video, audio corrected WaveEditor, which was added to the project.
If this is the case there is no way to recover.
The way I do in this case, I know the file does not exist.
ignore the PD message, or search for the original file in case of music, after loading the project redo what is missing.

If it is a not needed file, you can just click ignore when you open the project file.

I guess I am not even concerned about retrieving the missing media, just want to get it removed from the project so I don't get the errors on startup anymore.
Any way to do that?
thanks for your response

As already spoken, just choose the option Ignore / OK, when the message is displayed.
Your project opens, save the project and this solved.
If not this of us more details.

Hi Skiller

This thread is very old, but you would be advised to start a new thread.

However, you must have the source media available each time you open PD. For instance, if you loaded clips from an SD card, that card card must be in place when you open the project again. When PD saves a file as a project PDS file it doesn't store the media, but creates a text file that directs PD where to look for the media.

It is always best to transfer any media in a project to the HDD first, before editing. If you do this the media will always be in place for PD to find.

If there is more to it than I have described, please start a new thread Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,
