audio problem in voiceover

Hi!
My computer recently crashed and since I have re-downloaded everything I can't get my microphone to work on PowerDirector. I am using Windows Vista and the latest version of Power Director. I have checked my settings and it says under devices on my desktop that the device is 'working', but when I try to record sound on PowerDirector nothing is picked up. My microphone does work with skype so I am not sure why it is working for one program and not the other. HELP! Thanks.

Have you checked the 4 settings within PD by clicking on the microphone symbol?
I am sure you have but 'worth a try' by me even though this is a screen shot of PD11.

I have checked those things and it says the microphone is working... might have to try re-installing
