Can't install Power2Go 10 upgrade

I am trying to install Power2Go 10 upgrade. I had Power2Go 9 free trial and when I tried to install the 10 upgrade it locked up during removal of the trial version. Now it is telling me I need the old version before it can install then it just aborts. I tried reinstalling the trial version and that didn't fix the problem. What am I supposed to do? I have had nothing but issues trying to find a DVD burning software for my Windows 8 computer and now that I finally do I can't even get it to install. Very frustrated.

To install upgrade version need an old paid version (from a bundle one or purchased before) on your PC. Free trial is not a paid version.

Chad 17. Perhaps you missed this information:

Procedure for Software Update Download and Installation
Unless noted, software updates provided on this page are exclusively for retail and online purchased versions only. To check for updates for hardware bundled versions, locate the "About" dialog in the software, and then click on the "Upgrade" button. In the Upgrade dialog click the "Update" tab to see if there are any updates available. Also note that the software will pop up a notification periodically when there is an update available. .

I am having same problem with Power2Go 10 trial.
When trial time limit expires popup says "Upgrade". So it IS offering the user and upgrade price for the Trial version.

Yes, you get a discount price -- depending on if there is a sale going on. I thnk the original poster had an issue that he could not remove the trial version so he could not install the full version.

Typically moving from a trial version to a paid version requires you to remove the trial version before installing the paid version. If you would click on that information, it may tell you that. I like to use Uninstaller Programs such as Revo Uninstaller which uses the program's buit in uninstaller and then cleans the registry and folders that are safe to remove (Using the Moderate Mode only)

I guess that I don't undertsand your question (if there is one).

I am having the same problem. I have an activated Version 9 (was bundled) and am trying to upgrade to version 10 Platinum. When it starts installing I get a popup that states "must have version 7-9 installed" and quits the installation. my version 9 did send me request to upgrade to the latest versions. I purchase the latest version 10 upgrade from the store. What could the problem be?

When you say bundled do you mean that it was an OEM? One that came with a piece of equipment like an optical drive. If so, perhaps that OEM didn't qualify you to do a discounted upgrade that you selected.

Is V9 still installed? Did you get an activation code or number with it?

Never trust those upgrade messaages. Contact the store. People on this forum can't help because none of them work for Cynerlink. .
