Edit Video/Image Options All Grayed Out

So, I'm new to video editing. I just recently started using PD Ultimate V12 and the program won't let me edit anything under "Edit Video/Image". Everything is grayed out. It's the same for Clip Keyframe and Clip Attributes. Anyone else having these issues?

After I edited my first video (all I could do was cut out segments) and produced it I noticed that a long dark pink light appeared at the very bottom. Is this normal? Do I just crop it out or something?

Thanks!

PhoenixBlaze,
welcome to the Forum.
Your question is a little open because any number of things might be happening.
To make those buttons active, you need to drag a clip into a timeline, and make sure it remains high-lighted. Those buttons should become active.
As for the pink line, what is the source of the video?
It might be best to look at this link, and provide for us your dxdiag. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/29701.page PART A and PART B please.

Hi Barry,

Thanks for your response. I use a Canon Rebel T3i for my video shootings. For whatever reason, the following video could not be edited even if it was highlighted (but the sample nature.wmv file could be, oddly enough):

EDIT: I could not edit the raw file, but for the post-production file...looks like I can edit it.

I have downloaded the patch and still nothing.

Note that the file does not accept edition, shows audio and video separately, if so, you have 2 options to solve.

1 - Add the same clip to override what is in error.

2 - Select the clip in error, right click and select, Unlink video and audio.

With this procedure you can continue editing.

Note: This error occurs after saving and reopening project.

See this topic may be related to your problem.

I just decided to produce the raw video and then throw it back in the player to make edits.

What is really annoying me though is this pink line that keeps showing up on the raw video, as seen in the Youtube video. Can I fix this without cropping it out? My face is barely in the video as it is (I couldn't push my tripod back farther since I live in a studio apartment)...

So...no one has an answer for this pink line issue? It's not coming from my camera. It shows up once I produce a video. Maybe it has to do with the framerate or something?...using 24 FPS
