Constant Media Source Error Code 2

Power Director 12 has worked perfectly for a couple years...never had any issues importing MP4 or AVCHD MTS files from my cameras. In the last couple of weeks, every time I import video into PD12 I keep getting the No Rich Video message and when I import the file it MAY display in the preview window sometimes and when I drag it into the timeline, most every time it says Media Source Error Code 2. It's basically rendered my PD12 to a useless state. I tried re-installing PD12 but it made no difference.

I'm hoping someone can help as I'm out of ideas. This is Windows 8.1 which is what I've always run PD12 on.

Thanks!

Hi Seattle_Mike,
The error message can be triggered by either the video or audio content not being decoded by PDR. Update QuickTime is an easy thing that might correct the problem.
Please provide the MediaInfo on the media file and attach the text data. A diagnostic would also assis and a screenshot of the error message. See guide, Part A, B, E, F and J will help you. Link: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/29701.page

Thank you for the response! I was able to resolve the issue by running PD12 as Administrator on my PC. When I went to run it, a message came up that RichVideo was missing and asked if I wanted to load it. Once it installed and ran, everything went back to normal. I did look to see if Rich Video was installed earlier and it said it was so dismissed that as a possible culprit, so not sure what the disconnect was. There were two Windows updates recently so maybe something was changed but all is well now.
