Need to give more information.

Update QuickTime, if not resolved, install package, encoder / decoder, K-lite or other, can solve in some cases.

PD reportedy doesn't play nicely with some MOV/QT files. Consider converting them first...then import.

Probably an audio issue rather than the video part. Converting using a third party program should resolve the issue (as per borgus1's post). For a more in depth analysis of the issue we'd need the following data.
1. MediaInfo on the mov file.
2. A screenshot of your Edit Workspace error message.
3. Information on where/what the mov has come from/created by.
Please check out the guide, Part E, F & J will assist you, we'd also like Part B as well (diagnostic info).
