Footage blinking in and out when adding effects

Hello all. I am actually having multiple problems with PD12 at the moment, but I'll start with the most pressing. I'm trying to create a short clip with my company name so that I'll be able to add it before the start of all my videos. The problem is that when I add an effect, the video blinks in and out (black screen, then back to the video [repeatedly]) as it is played back (video file attached). When I remove the effect, the video plays like normal again. The blinking seems to start when I press play (regardless of where I am on the timeline), and lasts for 1-2 seconds b/f the video begins to play like normal again, so it's not just the beginning of the clip that's the problem. This problem happens with numerous effects. I just updated my video drivers 3 days ago, so that should not be an issue.

I will quickly list some of the other problems I'm having in case they are related to this specific issue. Hopefully someone can cross reference the issues if they are related. PD12 automatically unlinks the audio and video of certain clips. I have to delete the audio before I can use vital options such as Fix/Enhance. The message "Media Source Error (Error Code2)" is also popping up consistently when I try to add certain videos to the time line. If I save and reload, they will play again but it seems it's only a matter of time b/f the error msg reappears. I have never had this problem before until I switched over to a 64gb SDXC card. I'm using that with a T3i, so not sure if that's related. Also, when I add the ending credits effect to the timeline PD12 won't play it as a movie. I have to select "clip" b/c when it's played back as "movie" the project stops at the beginning of the credits. It freezes for several seconds, jumps to a specific spot in the middle of the credits, and freezes again. The film itself is a 23 minute documentary with MANY edits (and it plays back fine), so I'm not sure why the credits would bring my system to a halt unless it's some type of bug.

Sorry to throw so many things out there, but I'm not necessarily looking for a fix from the last few problems as much as I'm hoping someone will see the connection if there is one. I will be happy to start an individual thread for the latter problems, just hoping they're all related so it can be a single step that fixes them all. Thanks for the help, and let me know if you need anymore information.

1. I am running Powerdirector 12 on a Windows 8.1 machine.
2. My version of PD12 is: 12.0.3403.0.
3. My SR number is: VDE141006-01.
4. The file type of my video is MP4, and the video type is H2.64 AVC

I have enclosed my dxdiag file and a clip of the original video having issues with adding effects. Thanks.

I do not know everything but I have some guesses about some of your problems.

1 - PD12 automatically unlinks the audio and video of certain clips.

This is a problem that insists disturb us but already was worse.
Usually happens after save a project and reopen the next day.

2 - "Media Source Error (Error Code2)"

This message means that an effect is not present or is corrupted, or a video that PD does not have an appropriate decoder.

3 - I switched over to a 64gb SDXC card.

64 GB SSD I think, little, judging that PD uses HD C for many work files, and working with video or HD FullHD.

4 - the project stops at the beginning of the credits. It freezes for several seconds.

This problem has already been discussed and still unresolved, the more text and more time is worse, but it is only in the preview after the rendered video is good.

5 - he problem is that when I add an effect, the video blinks in and out.

This I think I did not understand well.
I had similar problems (talves) when he had, Harware Acceleration enabled in the settings.

Currently updated ATI AMD Catalyst look good.

Thank you very much Playsound for your quick reply. I remember you were the first to respond to my last post, so I really appreciate the diligence! As far as the unlinking of audio and video, it's not a deal breaker for me. I record external audio through a Tascam Dr-100 MK II, so I only used the camera's onboard audio for reference when syncing my video and audio in post. I've come to the conclusion that as long as I unlink the video and audio, and then delete the audio track, I can then edit my video track using Fix/Enhance, Power Tools etc.

You're right, Playsound. The end credits issue is really only an issue on the timeline. I rendered the video last night and it played back fine, so it's little more than an inconvenience that can be worked around. Thanks for that!

I'm wondering if it's time to reinstall PD12 to see if that resolves some of the issues. I know one guy posted that he had to reinstall his entire OS to get everything to work properly, so hopefully that won't be the case. I already updated Quicktime (with no changes to PD12 performance) so I'm not sure what else to try.

P.S. I have quit my full time job and am now trying to do video full time. I just finished my first documentary last night and I have another that's half way through production. I don't have the money to purchase any other editing software right now, so I really need PD12 to perform smoothly and quickly. If you guys and gals have any ideas on how to fix these issues I would be VERY grateful! I'm running low on $$$ and the sooner I get these projects out the better. It's crunch time for me, and I would like to stick it out with PD12 as long as I can. Thanks
