I don't know if its just me, but despite a lot of clicking and head scratching, I can't find the opacity rubber band in PowerDirector 12 which I found very helpful in PD 9. Is it it still accessible? While possibly a bit quick and dirty, in certain situations I found it ideal for fading in and out items on separate tracks.

Let us know if this is what you were referring to. It's on all versions of PD.

Thank you - yes, that's what I was talking about, some people refer to the line as a rubber band I believe. Thanks to your post, I can now move the line up and down, but I can't seem to attach the little "bend points" to it in the same way as you can on the audio signal, allowing you to fade in and out. Is this no longer possible?

Click on your clip MODIFY will appear.
Scroll to the bottom of the menu and click enable FADE.
You should be able to return to the timeline view and pull the band. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Setting keyframes in PiP Designer is a far more accurate of controlling opacity. Unless you have a maxed out timeline, brilliant vision & superb mouse control, using the "rubber band" method (a colloquial term, tomasc, not found in documentation) can easily result in slips.

In PiP Designer you have control of precise keyframe position and level.

"Rubber banding" is even worse on audio tracks. I only use it for non-critical stuff.

Totally accept what you say, Tony, its just I'm a bit chicken. I've been on the look out for a tutorial that will hand hold me through the PiP Designer, but the ones I've seen seem a bit general to me. Even the name PiP is a bit misleading for my intended uses. :-/
