Setting keyframes in
PiP Designer is a far more accurate of controlling opacity. Unless you have a maxed out timeline, brilliant vision & superb mouse control, using the "rubber band" method (a colloquial term, tomasc, not found in documentation) can easily result in slips.
In PiP Designer you have control of precise keyframe position and level.
"Rubber banding" is even worse on audio tracks. I only use it for non-critical stuff.
