Hi Jenny -
I'll get the ball rolling on your random questions. Others will probably offer different observations because we don't all go about things the same way using the same source material.
What you're trying to do in PDR will affect its performance.
In general terms, from some of the things you've posted (here & elsewhere) there seems to be some underlying issue with your PDR/PC & how they perform. Even on my older & "tireder" PC, I'm not having many of the issues you report.
1.
SVRT analysis of a 30 minute project (here) takes about 3-4 seconds, as you've found previously. Once I select "Show SVRT Track", it remains in place. The SVRT information (red & green bars) disappears when doing any editing - I guess because it's about to become different.
2.
Enhancements can be applied to one clip at a time, or you can use "Apply to All" (which wouldn't suit your circumstance). You
can apply the enhancement then use copy/paste keyframe attributes on the other clips (all at once) - assuming you haven't also applied other keyframes (motion, rotation etc)
2a.
CDR round trip editing - even on my older PC, this happens reasonably smoothly. It doesn't give me the same grief it's giving you.
3.
Search - the short answer is No. You can remove all unused items from the library but not isolate them within the library without manually selecting them (i.e. looking for the green check marks)
4.
Documents
i. The CDR (X).CDS are CDR project files generated during round trip editing (to document changes made)
ii. The C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\13.0 folder is the default
output folder for PDR 13. You can set that wherever you wish in Preferences. It also contains your custom effects (particles, titles etc) & cro
pped pictures - I know of no way to re-direct those, but it doesn't bother me so I haven't tried.
iii. Those files are stored there to isolate them from the program files & templates that are part of the installation - so that they're retained when you uninstall/re-install.
... that's it from me too.
Cheers - Tony
