Carl, aren't there any other ways you could do that? A webcam, for example, but not necessarily going onto the web(internet)?

I am sure there are other ways to upload a Weather view from outside.

Ambient Weather has software that takes a security camera's video output and puts it on the web site.

I do have a Capture device was works.
Hauppauge USB-Live2 is a USB Capture device that works very well, Its cost is about $49.

I gave up on putting a weather cam online. Mainly I was unhappy with the quality of the security cam I have.

Carl, I think you missed punchline of the joke! Spiders, web-sites! And I don't think I said anything about monitoring weather, either. I suggested using a "web-cam" for live video streaming, as I believe they connect straight to a computer via a USB port.

My purpose was a Weather Cam. thus the mention of weather. You did not say weather, I did.
