How to record multiple virtual tracks using Virtual Audio Cable with AD 5?
[Post New]
Hi there.

Im trying to use AD 5 to record multiple tracks from virtual audio cable outputs (my microphone, Skype output etc...). I have VAC setup but for the life of me I cant find a way to get audiodirector 5 to record from multiple audio sources? When im in the mix tab I can get multiple tracks ready but when I select the device source (which does show all my system outputs) its changes it for all the tracks rather allowing me to set each track to a different source?

What am I missing? I anyone can guide me id be very grateful indeed!

Hello Arkham1138,

Welcome to the AudioDirector forum

Firstly, I'm completely unfamiliar with how VAC functions. All I know is what I just read here - http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm From that description, it sounds like it should work with ADR.

Are you trying to record multiple sources simultaneously in the Mix module? or are you recording each source separately?

If you could provide some more information about your set up & workflow, we may be able to work our way through the problem.

Hi Pix!

Many thanks for your quick response. Im essentially trying to live record separate tracks for my microphone and my skype conversations

This is the set-up (if im allowed to post links?) http://youtu.be/kQ1_6DfNio4

I have the virtual audio cables set-up, Playback Devices Line 1 (virtual) as default device, my Speakers and default communication device.

For Recording Devices i have line 1 and line 2 ready but only my yeti microphone as the default recording device.

I am recording gameplay with shadowplay that records the game video and sounds into one file for use in Powerdirector. Im looking to record the microphone and skype conversations separately to give me more editing freedom in Powerdirector 13.

In the example above, many use DXTORY to record multiple channels (as the vid shows) however as i also have audiodirector 5 i assumed that i could use that instead of having to buy DXTORY. ADR 5 in the mix tab does see all my Playback and Recording devices in the drop down lists but when i have multiple tracks set, changing one of the input devices actually changes all the others when all i want to do is select a different source for each track if that makes sense?

Im sure its something silly im doing as ADR 5 is a multi track live recorder so if you can help guide me through my ignorance that would be great.

Thanks PIX
