Duplicated "phantom" clips when moving them in the timeline
[Post New]
I have a problem that when I click on a scene and drag it to insert into another point in the timeline it leaves a duplicate in the original spot, that is not usually visible on the timeline (sometimes can be noticed as a black "empty" frame). the duration is usually reduced to a very short period of time, so can usually only be seen during video preview of another scene I thought was put in it's place. I will be previewing a scene and all of the sudden the "moved" scene with pop up for an instant within the clip I am watching. I have had to freeze the frames and manually go to the point at which it appears, click on "clip", then go to trim, reset the length so it is again visible on the timeline, and then click on it and delete it. It is so very annoying not to be able to move clips around and position them without these "phantom copies." It happens with both videos and images. I cannot figure out how to avoid this and then how to easily detect and delete them without watching the full video very closely. A side issue to this is my produced video ended up being over 52 minutes when the timeline is only ~20, because I think 'phantom clips" exist where I initially pulled them in from the library off the timeline and dragged them in in the order I wanted. How do I detect all these duplicate phantom clips and set the true end to my video for production???

Hi,
This issue annoyed the heck out of me some time ago and I created a video screen capture to show CyberLink the issue/event as it happened/displayed in the Preview player. For me the issue was with one of the early released builds. No-one observed anything similar/posted on the forum at the time.

1. Please check you have the latest build of PDR13
Link: http://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdirector-ultra/patches_en_US.html
2. Please provide a video screen capture of the event.
Part E & F in the guide, Link: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/40225.page
3. Please provide a diagnostic of your computer. Part A & B information in the guide, same link as above.
I'll pass everything onto CyberLink.

I have this error the same or similar, I delete parts of a video by removing the gap, I'm still seeing the video that was deleted in the same position on the timeline.

The solution for me was to save and reopen the project, can not remember if all times, the last time with yes. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3
SSD SUV400S37240G / 2-HD WD 1TB
AMD Radeon R9 270 / AOC M2470SWD
Windows 7-64 / PD16 Ultimate

Hi,
Thank you playsound for your input here.

The "residue" should not be present after a clip or section has been edited out of a track. Playsound, could you also provide a video screen capture showing the issue please? I'd also think we need the same data as I asked for in my previous post. In that way CyberLink will see the issue and the set up etc and maybe fix the problem.

Dafydd
