have to restart bluray movie from the beginning after pausing

I have windows 8.1 and use windows media center. I have the screen saver turned on and a slide show of my pictures play when I pause WMC.

I just purchased powerdvd 14 to play bluray movies and was watching one tonight when I had to pause it for a few minutes. When I came back and pressed play I was taken back to the main menu and resume was grayed out for some reason and my only option was to restart.

If this is the default behavior there is no way I can continue to use powerdvd, I'm going to have to look for something else to play bluray movies because I can't restart the movie every time I pause. That's just stupid.

I have the same problem here, and hope somebody else can help with that.

Emma, there are other posts related to this performance. That is just the way it was designed and within the limits for blu ray discs. Sometimes it helps to scan other threads to get answers (but don't post in them) or your posts may be ignored or lost. .

Anything I post unless stated with a reference is my personal opinion.

I can pause and resume Blu-Ray playback without problems. I can also quit a Blu-Ray and later resume where I left off.

Having to restart a Blu-Ray from the start after pausing is definitely not normal behavior.

EDIT:

Sorry I may have misunderstood, is this a problem only specifically when opened form windows media center?
