Creating crossfades takes multicam project out of sync with audio track

I have a project with 3 camera tracks and one audio-only track and they are all synced. It's a music performance. How can I create crossfade transitions between the different clips I pick from the cameras and still keep it in sync with the audio track? It seems that any way I cut to create a multi-cam video track takes the video out of sync from the audio track.

For your case the most appropriate in my view and use crossfade transition does not alter the position of the videos.

Set PD for Cross transition.

Menu Edit / Preferences / Editing / Set default transition behavior: Cross / OK

The other way to do it if you want the cross fade to overlap is to set up the two clips on separate tracks, and ensure that where you split them overlaps, then add fade-out to the first and fade-in to the second, then adjust the key frames on the clip as needed.

If you have already used the multi-cam editor and have the clips all on the same track, just copy one of the clips down to the next track and drag it so they overlap, then apply the fade-in and fade-out. (It will stay in sync with your audio track.)

Setting the transition to Cross rather than Overlap will also work, but it fades through black (or whatever is on the next track up), which may not be the effect you want.

Cheers.

This is craziness! PowerDirector NEEDS to add the ability to add an overlap transition where it uses the trimmed content, if available, to not mess up the audio sync! I'm editing a wedding video with hundreds of clip transitions - doing this manually is going to be a pain.

A cross transition is not an option - it looks awful. Ghosts of people appearing, stutters when people are moving, etc.

I've used other video editing software (Adobe Premier Elements) 10 years ago that had this functionality. Cyberlink, please add this!

I think I'm in the same boat. I have synced wedding video on track 1 and track 2. I've gone through and added (mostly) 1-second overlap transitions to the clips (about 50 different splits). Everything remained synced between tracks 1 and 2. Now, I've gone back and tried to adjust the duration of some overlap transitions on track 1. If I make them longer (say, 3 seconds), it pulls track 1 to the left (shortens it...makes sense) but doesn't concurrently shorten track 2. Ergo, out of sync video.

Am I stuck with this behavior? Or, is there a way to keep track 1 and track 2 in sync when transitions are added?

Normal when adjusting something on a track, everything moves like to keep the positions.

In the case of Overlap transition if you do not want to move other track, the way and lock, click the lock to the left of the track to lock during editing. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3
