With doubts AudioEditor5 and WaveEditor2

I can not find a way to reduce the volume of the audio in two applications.

This is so basic it will be my mistake.

So I have audio with maximum volume and want to apply an effect that will go up even more volume, so I need to first reduce the volume, as I always did with another editor.

Another question apply Normalize AE nothing changes the volume of the audio.

Another issue that has already been discussed for previous version PD.

PD13 continues to normalize that does not work as other sofware, adjust the volume to the maximum normal volume function.

Seems to me that PD13 is the average of the volume of various audio clip and even to the lowest volume.

Hi playsound -

Maybe I'm not understanding your question/post properly. What is it you're trying to do?

Normalization in PD (I think) works like Peak Normalization - where the peaks of each clip are matched bringing the volume of clips more into alignment.

From the Help file: if there is more than one audio clip on the voice or music track, or on any of the audio tracks, click the Normalize* button to have CyberLink PowerDirector set the volume for all the clips to the same level.

It does that...

Could you please explain a little more about your question?

Cheers - Tony

Your picture shows how well the PD Normalize works.
In your example all clips have a good volume.
The question is whether I clip's very low volume, PD seems to me, is the average between the highest and lowest levels and all this extent.
Another sofware Normalize adjusts all the clips to the default value, and can also determine% for the maximum value of the volume, choose generally between 95-98%.
Example: The clip that is already with standard volume does not change, what this low rises for equal to what this good, it has some above normal is areduzido to normal.
What's more if I have only one clip on the timeline, the Normalize should adjust the volume to the default.
I think PD has another concept to Normalize.

Note:
Foto 1, Before normalizing.

Foto 2, After normalization, good result

Foto 3, After normalization, volume down all the clips.

O arquivo somente audio na linha do tempo, foi corrigido com MP3Gain ( 97 db ).

Outro sofware o Normalize sempre ajusto o volume para o limite superior, idependente do nivel de cada clip ou parte.

Nota boa:

Adjust the volume of the clip, now fast graph shows the current peaks.

Also peaks yellow, show higher than normal volume facilitates manual adjustment.

Very nice.

Resolved, Master Volume can be adjusted, it is not very practical but serves to what I want.

Has set the beginning and end of the audio.

Normalize which balance the audio channels

Perhaps this tool should be labeled "average-ize" or similar.^_^

It's not NORMALIZE in the sense that is employed by various audio tools that I have used. Here's the definition from one of those products...

"To 'normalize' is to adjust the volume so that the loudest peak is equal to (or a percentage of) the maximum signal that can be used in digital audio. Usually you normalize files to 100% as the last stage in production to make it the loudest possible without distortion."

Agreed. PD does not "normalize" it averages based on the clips on the timeline and NOT to a pre-determined audio level. Not the best way to do things. Win 10, i7
