Answer (as far as I can determine):

Import & edit - Yes
Export with alpha channel - No.

The alpha channel becomes black on export.

Why then released this version?

That's a fair question & I don't have a definitive answer for you.

This is only a calculated guess, but it may have something to do with making ProDAD Adorage effects & transitions compatible with PowerDirector. Some of the included/available overlay videos probably contain an alpha channel.

I could be very wrong, so don't take my stab in the dark as fact!

In the attached clip (just for you), I couldn't export with alpha... but it saved me a lot of animation and keyframe work.

Side note: when I took the alpha channel clip into PiP Designer, the background was black - not transparent. An indication of only partial implementation

I won't purchase 13 til it's fully implemented then, what a shame.

I tried but then I deleted the video.
I did not do anything special, I put my video in the timeline, and under it a video with alpha channel.

I just bought it hoping that alpha channel is working in a different way. Now money is already spent..
