Move the orange timeline markers on each side of the timeline scrubber to start and end of desired range then right-click and select "Produce range."

I tried this and it does work - but there oughtta be a better way. In Pinnacle I could just drag it and drop it.

Sorry. I'm kinda new to all this and definitely not trying to hijack anything. I'm really just here lookin for some help and advice. Anyway like I said I tried that method , and it is certainly a way that works. Being new to power director I'm wondering if anyone here knows any other methods? If thats the most direct method, then that's what I'll hafta use. thx for the help.

I just drag and drop clips to the media library from an open folder/documents file* to PowerDirector - it's easier for me to do that with two monitors.
*Same can be done from MediaShow (displays and plays video) to PowerDirector.
