I've tried everything I can think of so hopefully someone here can help me. I'm running powerdvd 14 with an ATI Radeon 4300/4500 series video card. Pretty low end, but should still be able to handle playing a simple movie. Whenever I try to enable hardware acceleration. I always get a purple screen and can't see anything. The audio works fine, but again all I see is a purple screen. I have windows 8.1.1 running on my computer, but I have the official driver for my video card, NOT the one built into the windows 8 USB stack. I'm at a loss folks.

According to the specs you need at least a 5000 series ATI card to even play DVD's

AZ, what CPU do you have?

Graphics Processor (GPU)
Blu-ray Disc, DVD, and TrueTheater HD/3D Playback

Intel HD Graphics, ATI Radeon HD 5000, NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT or above
Note: We strongly recommend that you update your graphics card driver to the latest version. 3D display devices are required for TrueTheater 3D playback.

Do you have an Intel chip with built in HD graphics? What are you using for a display device? .

Hi,

AMD's drivers are not supporting BD playback on Windows 8.1 for your Gfx adaptor
