How to Order Clips in Timeline by Alias

Hey forum, new user here.

After spending 3 days doing rough cuts for a YouTube video in PowerDirector, I labeled the 500+ cuts with aliases to group them and find the best of each group. I have each labeled already, but they need to be sorted. How do you sort all of the clips in the timeline by their name in the alias? I've searched a lot of the forum here and could not find the answer.

If you already have your media in the timeline, there is no sorting function. The library contents can be sorted.

Thanks for the welcome. Sad to say this is how the next 3 hours will look: manually grouping and alphabetizing 350 clips.

Is there any way to eliminate spaces/gaps between all clips in the timeline?

Hey Vol, did ever get an answer about the "remove multiple 'Gaps' at one time" aspect of your problem?

I am editing by cropping a few seconds off of dozens of game film clips - football and baseball. Each edit requires that I manually remove the gap and move all of the clips on the timeline - over and over and over. The frustrating thing is that version 9 of powerdirector removed the gap automatically. I cannot select the gaps in batch and remove and move. There is no setting that I can find.

This statement does not seem correct. gaps are removed after individual selections, click right button and REMOVE AND CLOSE SPACE. W 10 64 , pc Dell XPS 8000 - core i7 2,8 GHz--ram 6 MB--GEFORCE GTX 1050TI 4GB - SSD 256 + 2x630--area Pal
