green screen question

I have downloaded green screen effects from youtube such as spark, smoke, and others. I find it difficult to key out the green completely even though the green is perfect. For example, if I use green screen smoke there is always a lot of residual green mixed with the gray smoke. If I adjust the parameters enough to eliminate the green completely no smoke is left. It is likely caused from the color green changing as the smoke appears.

I am still using PD 11 and I know there were some improvements in green screen with pd 12. So my question is has anyone found PD 12 to do a much better job of keying out green than PD 11 or is it just marginally better?

Heavytiger,
I have done a bit of chromakey/green/blue screen, and I have been fine with PD's offering.
I have also used the NewBlue Chromakey Pro, and it's a better choice.
The NB effect can be bought on it's own, and works great with PD 11 and 12.

There is a little green seen from time to time, but if I got it 100% correct, I wouldn't be pouring concrete tomorrow...
This sample used New Blue Chromakey Pro.

Alpha channel support is really needed in PD, in other programs you can simply drop in a smoke effect which has no background and it displays without tweaking green screen or the like. I've had problems getting fog/fire and smoke completely transparent so PD is limited for me for special effects. Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 Mainboard : Intel i7 2700k @ 3.6ghz: 12 gb DDR3 Kingston ram:

I am new to green screen. Does NewBlue have alpha channel support?
