Can you play audio while scrubbing timeline?

Just purchased PD7 and looks great so far....I am somewhat a newbie and think editing is so fun......I do have 1 issue so far.....

Is it possible to hear the audio while scrubbing in the time line...I am wanting to hear the music I have added to the timeline and trim video clips to end on certain beats of the song.

At this point I feel it is a crap shoot to know when the beat changes so I can make a hard cut or transition to another video clip.

Is there a way to hear the audio while watching video? so I can trim the video to be a certain length?

Please help because this seems to be very cumbersome in PD7 and I do not know what to do.

I could find no way to hear audio when "scrubbing through" the timeline. However if your audio you need to edit on the beat is the audio on the timeline you can expand the timeline until you can easily see the beats on the audio track and just keep repeating playback until you see the exact beat you want to edit on.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work on the music track as the waveform does not show there.

That is the best way to do this? Manually looking for the beat in the waveform? That seems so arduous(??). YOu should not have to be so manual. Other editing programs I have used (Avid and Preimer Pro) allowed you to find the beats very easy and at least mark the frame.

Anyone else have this same type question?

Don't think this option is available in PD. Pinnacle Studio certainly allows you to turn audio off or on whilst scrubbing. Would be a good additon for next version - and not a complicated change.
