I mostly use digital stills to manually produce a slideshow but since recently updating to PD12 ultra (from PD11) I cannot see how to use motion. The theme designer I have tried on several occasions but it runs too fast even after extending the images to 10, 12 or even 15 seconds. I have watched "Sparky's" video but can't get those results. I have looked at many other Tutorials but am so confused just now I wish I still had PD11. Can someone put me on the right track??? Bunkerbaz

You can add motion to images, in the PIP Designer (one image at a time) or use Magic Motion.

Slideshow has some canned templates. There are several themes to choose.

The problem with the slideshow templates, you have little control. Some templates can be modified some.

PDtoots has some slideshow tutorials.

Thanks Carl but I have looked at many of the slideshow tutorials on Cyberlink, DZ and various individual tutorials.
The conclusion is that there is no way I can see how I can manually produce a slideshow with motion, transitions etc. as I did with PD11. The theme designer does not have a way of controlling the speed of images or the motion it selects. At least none that I can find. I would love to know if I can get PD11back. Bunkerbaz

Hi Bunkerbaz -

One of us is missing something blindingly obvious here.

You're absolutely right about the slideshow templates & Theme Designer offering no way of controlling speed/duration of images & transitions. That's a limitation that comes with the templates, which have many other redeeming features.

BUT

I can see how I can manually produce a slideshow with motion, transitions etc. as I did with PD11

PDR12's Magic Motion functions in much the same way as it did in PDR11. That would be the easiest way to manually build a motion slideshow, with transitions, & complete control over duration of images & transitions and motion paths.

By constructing the project in smaller sections, using Apply to All, then re-ordering photos, I just threw together a 250+ image slideshow with varying durations, transitions & motion in about 15 minutes. Just like PDR11

Cheers - Tony

This dummy did not realise the magic motion had selectable options. I will try that in the next day or so..looks promising.
Thanks Tony...I will let you know how I get on. Barry. Bunkerbaz
