I am trying to make a silver star as a png image in paint.net. I would like to use this as a custom image in the particle room in Pd. I can't figure out how to make the star silver in color. I have already made red, white, and blue. Silver must be some combination of white and gray.

Try these color combos.

One of the RGB values is a light gray.

Hi Heavytiger -

A couple of easy options:
1. Grab a silver star from your clip art resources or net - make the background transparent & resize to about 256px square - save as .png (like the Siver_Star attached)
2. Go to C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector12\ParticleObject\Effect-A - select a star - copy/paste to another file location - desaturate it & save (stra-a_0000 example attached)

Cheers - Tony

Beautiful star. Thanks Tony

I also need help in the particles room. I want stars to emit from the center of a picture as though from infinity and come straight towards the middle of the screen as though they are going to come out of the TV screen and hit the viewer in the eyes. (Although I am not trying to make a 3D video). I have fiddled with the parameters but can't seem to get what I want. Picture a single stream of stars being created and coming straight at you.

Great Silver_Star there Tony. I experimented with it and created a particle set of stars that comes from a point and hits the screen and then disappear. Attached is a 4 sec. video with this effect.

Hi Tomasc

I watched your video and that is part of what I want to create and I also have been able to do that with a picture in picture object. But I can't tell from the 3 sec clip if more stars are continually being created so that there is a constant stream of stars from infinity that enlarge as they move toward the TV. Look at the clover 3D effect. New clover is constantly being generated.

thanks for your effort
