Upgraded to PD 12 Ultra, from PD 10 Ultra. Registered the program. During installation PD 12 apparently removed PD 10 from my computer, then PD 12 sent an error message that it could not be installed because it said there was no previous version of the program on my computer (how silly is that???). Fortunately I had retained the registration code for PD 10, and once I put that in, PD 12 went ahead and installed.

Now I find that PD 12 won't recognize MVI files which were previously recognized by PD 10. I have screen shots of the error message - but I am not seeing a way to attach or inset them.

Any help appreciated. Right now I have no functional video editing program. This is a very bad beginning for PD 12.

Hi BillHansen,
For attachments you need to select Post Reply (link: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/reply/0/38754.page ) and then the Attachments icon.

The installation of an upgrade can be done without the previous builds being on a computer, all that is required is the activation key from the previous build. What you experienced was not strictly right but the way your computer/installation dealt with it in the end was ok.

If you can provide a sample of your MVI files - 5 seconds long will be enough, Members can then test the video out themselves.

According to PDR12's list the MVI format is not included as a recognizable importable format, it is also not listed in PDR10.

Dafydd - Thanks for your reply. First, I'm going to try an uninstall/reinstall of PD 12. I have to leave for work soon, so it may be 16 May before I know how that works out. I'll get back to you and the group when I've done that. - Bill Bill Hansen
