Hey, Im also having a problem with Powerdvd14 trial on my VG248QE, its detecting the 3D screen but it wont play 3D blu rays back for me. The menu is in 3D but the film is not. Im on the latest nvidia drivers, windows 7 (fully updated) and duel link DVI cable.

Have either of you run the 3D Advisor and what did it say about your equipment?

Hi, stevek yea I downloaded it and everything was pass, I am on the trial version at the moment. Would that make a difference? I didn't ready anywhere that trial doesn't playback 3D blu rays. I'm thinking this could be to do with the monitor not being supported at the moment? Because I have tried it on windows 8.1 and 7 and it's the same result for everything I change. 3d menu but the films in 2d.

Didn't you get a pass/fail for the monitor? I thought that was part of the tests.

powerdvd 14 works fine with 3d vision....U doing something wrong....In NV control panel turn on 3d vision in powerdvd set 120 hz monitor...Nothing else..

Pero, It clearly doesnt work properly as Tmt6 is working just fine, I have changed every setting I can think of to try to get powerdvd to play 3d blu rays back but it just wont go 3D with them. everything on the BD3D Advisor is saying it passes but something somewhere is going wrong and it must be in the program its self because I have changed everything I can from the outside with nvidia control panel. I have tried on a fresh install of windows 7(fully updated), tried a HDMI cable over duel link DVI changed to every resolution and Htz I can and its always the same.

Stevek. Sorry yes the monitor is included in the advisor but everything is a pass. I feel I have tried everything to get this to play in 3D now. Unfortunately I think I am going to have to go with tmt6 as it just works. I am trying old drivers at the moment as a last resort.

sorry for the late reply. I was able to get mine to work. i had the monitor hooked up with a display port at first. I was under the impression that using the display port was just fine. what I did was hook the monitor up using the dual link DVI. Once I did that Powerdvd recognized the monitor and the nVidia 3D vision. one weird thing though to note: every time i go to watch a 3D movie the process dlhost.exe starts running and will just eat up all 16 gigs of memory if i dont close it. sometimes i have to close it a number of times before it goes away. i have done many virus scans and used malwarebytes and they find nothing. i am using windows 7 ultimate. I dont know what to do to correct this.

Rober,i see them all Powerdvd is the best player for 3d media try to use dvi or 15 pin vga cabel set your moitor to 120 hz it must work!!!

same problem here. I'm trying the demo version of powerdvd 14 and when i play 3d bluray i can see in correctly only menus...
It's strange because i have the asusdvd version pre-installed on my asus g750 notebook, and it work perfectly with 3d movies...
Someone know how to solve?
Maybe it's the demo version?

Although you have a similar symptoms to the ones above, you may not have the identical solution because of hardware or other software on your computer (antivirus, registry cleaners, etc.)

Using PowerDVD 14 30 Day trial on Core i7 Dell Inspiron running Windows 8.1 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M.

I'd like to confirm that 3D films run in 2D, no matter what settings are made in PowerDVD or Nvidia Control panel. The Menus are 3D. The film (e.g. Gravity) is not. Same film runs in Corel WinDVD 11 Pro faultlessly in 3d.
