In the Final output Window (after you click Bun in 2D), click the configure drive box beside the Drive text box. You get a new window, there is a Drop Down that should have your burner listed.

Hover your mouse pointer on the box will give a tool tip.

If your burner is not listed, you may need to upgrade the Firmware in the burner or the burner may have failed.

Thanks for your prompt reply. In the Configure drive box, the drop down box is also blank. Hovering the mouse pointer in that box shows no tool tip. I have used other programs to write to CD and DVD (data) without problems. Neither my DVD-RW nor my BD-RE drive shows up in PD-11. The drive firmware has worked for burning many DVDs and the drive works for other programs so it appears to be OK.

LarryTheOgre, have you installed a virtual drive like Daemon Tools or the like? These utilities have not been real friendly with PD and cause the drive box to be empty as you experience. If so, at least two possible options. Uninstall virtual drive utility that you installed or often going to windows device manager and disabling the virtual drives will work too.

Going to Device manage is a very good idea, You can check your DVD/CD Rom drive branch and check the properties of the burner.

I have not installed any virtual drives or software on this machine (W864). Device manager shows both of my drives "working properly" or words to that effect.
You and Carl312 seem to assume PD11 has no problems. I wonder if there can be a glitch in PD11. Guess my next step is to uninstall/reinstall PD11 or just purchase and install PD12 (I can use PD11 on one of my other machines (WVista-64, W7-64))).

No, I didn't mean to imply that PD11 has no problems. In the OP you stated

So I assume PD11 was working fine for you on this box, this OS, and this install. If that's true, it's a little strange that they just went missing, usually that's a conflict with something. A reinstall of PD11 might correct, a uninstall of your burners with device manager might correct. Updating burner firmware probably not needed as you stated the drives were functional. For me, updating to PD12 to maybe correct would probably be last resort. If hardware is not functional in PD11 most likely PD12 won't correct.
If me, Vista, strike one with PD, 64bt Vista, strike two, not sure how productive that path will be with PD. One can surely try though. Win7-64bit a much better choice.

Final resolution: Installed PD12 on my W8-64 machine. It recognizes both of my drives. Installed PD11 on my W Vista-64 machine. Sees both drives there. Installed PD10 (Co-branded) on my w7-64 machine (Laptop). Sees my drive OK. All three seem to be working so I gave up trying to figure out what the problem was with PD11 on the w8-64 machine. Thanks for your help, guys.
