Scot61,

Thanks for the error message.

Error message means the file is not complete.

You have a corrupt installation file. If you downloaded that file you will need to download it again or contact Cyberlink support for a new download link.

I have finally had success installing PD12. But when I try to open preferences I am getting the Improper Argument message and unable to change preferences.

Thanks Carl for all your guidance and support.

You still have a bad install.

Did you use the PD 12 Cleaner software then go to the Powerdirector folder (with Windows Explorer) and Delete all the files.
PD 12 should be here if a 64 bit version (Ultra or Ultimate)
C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector12\
Delete all files and subfolders after CL Cleaner.

Now install PowerDirector.

Check produce for MPEG-2 and AVCHD video production and Create disk for DVD and BluRay. You are looking for a Activate request.

I used te cleaner but I missed that step. I will try removing PD12 once again, use the cleaner, and remove the files. Hopefully that will be the end of any issues.

Thanks again. Scott Wright
