Length of time to "produce"

I created a "movie" that is comprised of photos, audio and various transitions/effects from PD12. The .PDS file size that I am trying to "produce" to a H.264 (or any format for that matter) is 2.82 MB. I started the "production" nearly 14 hours ago and the only thing that is changing is the time remaining & time elapsed...both continue to grow. The "production" status bar has remained at 0%.

Using a Samsung Ultrabook with Intel i5-3317 processor, on a 1,7 GHZ CPU, Windows 8.1 64-bit OS, and 3,71 GB of RAM available.

Any idea if this is normal process time to "produce"? This just seems like it is taking waaaay to long.

Thank you, in advance, for feedback and input!

It definitely is taking too long. I am rendering an 1 hour video to mp4 full HD in ~ 50 minutes.

As for reference, my rig is a Athlon fx 8120 (8 cores, 3.1 Ghz) with 16Gb ram and a pretty standard 1To SATA disk for the source medias and rendered output.

There's definitely something wrong going on.
Here PD12 freeze when I applied FX "Blur" effect.
The solution for me was to disable Open CL technology.
Path, click Alt + C on the keyboard, select Harware Acceleration, clear the Enable Open CL technology box .... OK
Not sure that will solve your case, give it a try AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3
SSD SUV400S37240G / 2-HD WD 1TB
AMD Radeon R9 270 / AOC M2470SWD
Windows 7-64 / PD16 Ultimate

I am in the middle of a multiple-day "produce" mode. I created my first hour long large mega GB (again 1 hour to fit on CD) video that is now in the "produce" mode so I can hopefully burn to a DVD (that is if the technology is working). PRODUCE MODE DOES 1% in 1 HOUR!!! thus, that is 100 hours to produce! WOW~! What is the problem here?!
