I have been using Power Director since version 9 but I am presently using version 12. I have had this cropping issue all along but now it is important to resolve. When I am attempting to change the crop border it seems to move rather substantially as the MINIMUM allowable crop. I am only trying to eliminate a strip at the left and top border of about 5 pixels, not large at all. But when you grab the border and start to move it seems that the first place you can move to (it jumps) is probably about 3 times that size.

I understand that it is maintaining aspect and I can move center position so I am not losing right and bottom borders, though the interface is rather awkward. However I have not been able to change the crop in such a way to keep from losing substantially more of the image the I want to. Is there a setting I need to change or is this software just not capable of making a change of this size?

Hi Rick653,

My reply may not be on point here, but I’m going to try to take a stab at this part of your post /inquiry…
Quote: But when you grab the border and start to move it seems that the first place you can move to (it jumps)... Is there a setting I need to change or is this software just not capable of making a change of this size?

If I am understanding your question correctly, have you tried disabling the “Snap To” option in PD11’s Video Crop room? Thus enabling you to be able to freely position and size your media crop(s), within the aspect ratio limitations?
(NOTE: This is a screen shot of PD12, but the exact same option applies to PD11.)

On point, that seems to do the trick. Thanks
