DVD capacity
[Post New]
Hello, I'm working on a project that I hope to submit to film festivals on DVD.

It will run about 70min.

It's about halfway done and I wanted to put it on a DVD for review.

However, the DVD only holds 4.7 gigs and my file is much larger.

Is there some compression method that I should be using?

Thanks, Jerry

A DVD can hold about 60min at Best Quality. Otherwise, use SmartFit. Unfortunately, there are no other choices. Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit

You should look closely at the FESTIVAL'S RULES and see if they require a certain format(s).
A DVD can be standard definition DVD VIDEO played on a TV unit,
or,
DVD DATA, which can be played on a computer and contain Hi-Def media.
Do not overlook the rules of the festival.

They specify blu-ray DVD's. My problem is that I don't what format to burn the DVD on, MP4, AVC, etc. I will have approx. 70-80 mins of material.

Bluray disc or AVCHD on DVD disc? May want to contact them for specific information.

For AVCHD on DVD disc, there is only one format. For Bluray disc, PD12 offers MPEG2 or H.264. Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit
