Inisialize analog device

I had to reload Power Director 4 and when attempting to capture video I got the following messages:
"detecting audion device" then..
"Initializing analog device"
after the last message my system hangs at about 70% of initialization.

What is my problem?

Device manager indicates all devices are operating properly.

What's the analogue device?

I can only help in general terms as I'm using PD7.

PD4 is searching for a device - what is it?

I wish I knew how to figure what device the system is referring to. Unfortunately I have no idea how to find out.

I'm having a "you what moment!" - Do you have an analogue or ANY media device connected to your PC - like a camera (web cam etc)? If you do not then you do NOT need to click on the Capture pane of PowerDirector.

If you want to bring video into PD which you have on your hard drive or from a disc, all you need to do is open and locate the file through the Media Library - accesable from the Edit pane - user interface.
