I needed to perspective correct (lens correct) my video scene. Searched this forum then headed out to the web. After an hour final found my answer - YES you can. Photoshop can open video files, you can turn it into a SmartObject and use almost all filters on a video as if it were a photo including the lens correct filter.

Here's a video explaining process: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/no-stupid-questions-with-colin-smith/photoshop-lens-correction-for-video/

You DO realize that you've posted a link to a direct competitor of Cyberlink on the Cyberlink-funded forum...right? HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
Nvidia GTX 960(4GB)/16GB DDR3/
Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.
Tape capture using 6 VCR, TBC-1000, Elite BVP4+, Sony D8 camcorder with TBC.

Didn't really plan it. But would hope that the Forum's goal is to help solve problems and make better videos. I would imagine most all users of PowerDirector also own Photoshop. Lens correction is such an important help especially with GoPro's wide angle recording problem - distortion. Guess I'll find out if help or $$ is more important on the forum. My hope is help.

Thanks 0ooSharkoo0
I have a GoPro too and was wondering about doing some lens correction as well..
I am new to CyberLink as I have been using Premiere Elements for years so I don't know if CybeLink has a photo editing program or not but since I have Photoshop I would just use that instead...
as for even mentioning some other programs on this forum I also hope that getting a good dialogue going is better than only restricting discussions to only having to do with CyberLink programs only rather than all of us learning and helping one another out.

Marty,
the program was not just mentioned, a link to it, on a competitors site, was posted.
It's the same as sitting at a restaurant, having dinner, then having another restaurant deliver dessert to your table.
Not very polite, is it?
Other programs, including the competition, do get mentioned here, but posters really need to use common sense and show some manners.

Hi there,

There are different (video-,editing)forums for different purposes.
You will find “independent” video-/editing forums on internet, run by “independent” people.
This forum is not one of those. This forum is for CyberLink products, administrated by CyberLink.
As such, we try to be true to the intent of the forum;
helping people using CL programs to the best of our knowledge and ability,
together try to solve problem(s) member(s) may encounter.
Now and again we may direct members to free programs, but we stay clear of promoting
programs from other companies, especially links.
It is simply the manner we have when posting.

PS: I see Barry just posted…..more or less the same as me.

Nina

Why not USE THE GOPRO STUDIO software that you can download from GoPro and in the ADVANCE SETTINGS and check the box that says REMOVE FISHEYE?

Happy editing:D

It's over a year later but I wanted to chime in that I'm trying to do this too and welcome any advice how to do it natively in PD, e.g. as a PowerTool. I'm running PD13 64-bit, are there other versions which have this ability? Is there any official CL recommended way to achieve perspective correction or, failing that, any personal advice beyond Adobe?
Thanks either way. Shark, thanks for sharing, your enthusiasm does you credit--

I am moving from the Adobe suite to Cyberlink and really needed to have the keystone effect removed from a slide presentation. I read this thread and figured I couldn't do it with PowerDirector. On the other hand, I figured there might be a new feature since the thread was started

I think I found a way and it is really quite simple.

In edit mode select Keyframes in the list of toolsets.

On the left go to the bottom of the controls and use the set of freeform controls to adjust the corners of the image.

You can also select the corners and move them. I found that I sometimes needed to move the image outside of the editing window to use this method.

As I said, I figure this is a new addition to the product.
