I have been using PD5 for a couple of weeks. Today I started a new project
and selected "Import Media File(s). I selected bout 10 files and then it started
to import them. I decided to cancel it while it was importing...mistake I guess.

Now when I go to import a file it just freezes.

I shut down,,,I reinstalled 2x....still the same problem.

Any suggestions..guys...
Thanks

Here comes some steps from cyberlink support.
I think you can try to use these steps to check it.
Before you try these steps, please check your VGA card and sound driver are newer.

--------------The Cyberlink support-------------

Regarding your issue of software crashing, please follow the following steps to resolve the issue:

1) Delete all the contents of c:\Windows\TEMP folder

2) Increase the virtual Memory :
- Right-click "My Computer" on the desktop and select Properties.
- Select the tab: "Advanced" and then under the section "Performance" click the button "Settings"
- In the Window "Performance Options", use the tab : "Advanced"
- In the section "Virtual Memory", the system shows the total size of the Paging file, which you can increase with the "Change" button.
- Set intial size as '512 MB' and Maximum size as '1024 MB'.

NOTE: If your initial settings are higher than the recommended settings then please leave them as before.

3) Empty at least 5 GB of space on the drive in which you have installed the program.

4) Close all other applications including the Pop-Up blockers, Anti-virus softwares etc. Also close MSN Messenger, if running.

5) Stop Richvideo feature.

- Launch Power Director software.

- Go to "Edit" drop down menu at the top of the PowerDirector software screen.

- Now click on 'Preferences" option, click on "General" tab, please uncheck the both of the 'Richvideo' boxes.

Now try to edit the video again.

If the issue persists then please make a fresh installation of the software. For re-installation please follow the following steps:

i) Uninstall PowerDirector software:

a.)Start--> Programs -->Cyberlink PowerDirector --> Uninstall PowerDirector

b.)Start --> Run --> type "regedit" --> click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" --> click
"Software" --> click "Cyberlink" --> "PowerDirector". Delete folder "PowerDirector".

c.)Start --> Run --> type "regedit" --> click "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" --> click
"Software" --> click "Cyberlink" --> "PowerDirector". Delete folder "PowerDirector".

d)Reboot your PC.

ii) Reinstall PowerDirector. (NOTE: Before installation please close MSN Messenger, if open)

Make sure that you are using DirectX v9.0c. Install it if need be.
