I am supposed to produce a file in .MOV format for a school project, however that is not one of the file output options in Produce menu. I know it was there in PD9. Did something happen? HELP! This is due MONDAY.

This copy of PD10 was already installed on my HP when I bought it a couple of months ago new so I was wondering if they disabled the .MOV file format option?

MOV depends on QuickTime being installed.

Install the latest QuickTime.

If you have a bundled version of Powerdirector, HP may have disabled MOV. There are some OEM versions of Powerdirector that are crippled versions and are not fully functional as the Full Retail version.

If you told us what Version and build of Powerdirector you have, we can find the features of your version.

Thanks Carl312.

I went ahead and installed Quicktime, but the MOV option still does not appear ( i restarted computer).

My version is PD10 DE 10.0.3.2606. Please let me know if there is any way to get this mp4 file converted to MOV.

Thanks again

Since it has been two hours since Carl replied, he may be out. Since you are on a deadline and probably can't get any help from Dell, you should try a free third party converter.

Go to cnet.com and search for one. If the one you choose does not have a direct download link, go to the next one. Do not click the big green download button or the site will load some download helpers that you don;t want.

I use "Any Video Converter" but others are equally as good. .

Thank you for the version number:

Your version does not support QuickTime MOV.

SteveK's suggestion for the file converter is a good idea. You can produce your video in the format that your version of Powerdirector will produce, then convert to MOV.
