I have downloaded all the patches. Tried K-lite. Tried other codec packs. Deleted the program and reinstalled. Deleted Quicktime and re-installed. I can play the files and open them in Windows Movie Maker, but for whatever reason Power Directors gives me the error saying the file is corrupted.. blah blah blah contact my video provider.

Getting very frustrated and about to make the switch to Vegas if this keeps up another couple days. Any other suggestions on what I can try? I have googled and not seen anyone with similar issues.

No probs for me.

Do have have a small sample you can upload somewhere so we can have a look? Something like DGSplit http://neuron2.net/dgsplit/dgsplit12.zip will let you cut off one 20MB chunk if the offending file is too big.

Thanks
Nathan

Don't use K-Lite, it may mess up your system sometimes.
PowerDirector has its own codec, no need to install others. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have powerdirector on my other computer and it imports my video files flawlessly. I only tried the K-Lite download after reading it as a possible solution on one of these threads. I have deleted, done fresh installs, uninstalled, re-installed.. nothings worked yet. I only get the error when I try m2ts and mts files. The same files play on my media players, and will work in other editing programs. It's a issue with my cyberlink. I've went over all my settings and haven't got a clue what the problem could be.

Is this the licensed/purchased version of PD? There may be a limitation in the trial copy.

Two MTS test files were imported here into W8.1/PD11 without a glitch, so it's not a problem with that O/S.
