Hi
Other than what we see in the monthly directors zone does someone know where you can get the media logo design clips, where you can just input the text etc ? http://videoeditingsoftwaresolutions.co.uk

Hi Derek -

media logo design clips

- that could mean many things.

It's hard to say exactly what you're after, but I'm sure there are some good answers.

Are you talking about lower thirds/text bars? Logo designs? In what way do you intend to use it?

A little bit more information would help.

Cheers - Tony

Further to what tony has said.

PD is a video editing software program with very limited static graphic effects.

What you are probably after is a dedicated graphics designer or photo editing program.

Try Googling Paint.net, it's free and produces some pretty awesome PNG (transparent background) files that be be imported into PD if you wish to create a short video intro clip for your website.

There are hundreds of tutorials on how to use this free program on Youtube.

Good luck Happing editing

Best Regards

No you are not being thick, they are hard to find.

Here is one.
http://www.dafont.com/xerography.font

You can change the background color in this one.
There may be more at the same web site.

As to being compatible with PD12, Fonts are installed in Windows, then they are available to be used in the Title Designer.
Of course if you create a PNG with the message, you can use in Powerdirector.

TTF is the correct font type: (TrueType).
Install into Windows Fonts, they are available in the Title Designer.

Hi derekhunts,

As I don’t know your Youtbe channel name, I can’t recall if your request for these particular downloads have been received yet at the PDtoots Tutorials Youtube channel.
Google (in my opinion) has really screwed up Youtube with their constant changes to how YT now works. So notifications now are often quite spotty. and we seem to miss getting a lot of incoming messages/requests.

If you haven’t received a PDtoots Youtube channel reply yet to your YT channel, then you can click on the “PM” button at the bottom of this reply, and specify your request, and a download link(s) will be sent to you.

And also… just a little thanks here to forum member Carl312, from those forum members here who contribute tutorials to the PDtoots channels, for passing on PDtoots Tutorials links that appear in this case to have turned out to be the “how to” instruction that member derekhunts was seeking and wanting to create in his PowerDirector.

Having a slight problem with the single cube.
After I have chosen the 3D template and deleted the text the text box is not high lighted as in the video tutorial.
I am using PD 12
If I type a letter and then follow the video my letter has the image I uploaded into texture and I can follow all other instructions, except I do not have a cube, but a 3D letter
Getting to grips with the various functions is fine except just the above and getting the correct spin on the letter / cube
Please can you tell me where I am going wrong
Many thanks

Hi Derek -

I'm not certain exactly which template you're using, but your minor issue is easily resolved.

If you're using the SQUARE font, you can type the number 1, 2, 5 or 8 to get a square (i.e cube)
If you're using the SQUONT 5 font, you can type the number 1 or 2

Cheers - Tony

Thanks Tony, I am following the video, but if there is a template about for the single cube that would make life a lot easier.

Are there any other suitable templates around for a logo other than the cubes ? http://videoeditingsoftwaresolutions.co.uk

Hi Derek,

These issues you are having re: The 3D Like Rotating Image Cube, are probably best handled via a Youtube PM or private email correspondence, as this is not really a Cyberlink/PowerDirector specific issue, thus this post will very likely be locked or removed.

The PDtoots 3D Text Cube giveaway has been downloaded hundreds and hundreds of times. So first let me ask you...
(1) After downloading, did you un-zip the zip folder before trying to use / install the included square fonts.
(2) Did you read all the instructions in the “READ ME” text file that was included in the folder? Which, in the first "Instructions" part of the five part “READ ME” text file, states…

Square Font (provided by... PDtoots / CPTV) 01-21-2011

***** INSTRUCTIONS *****
- Unzip the zipped folder, to extract it's contents.
- Install (copy/Paste) Square font to your Windows Fonts folder.
- Once installed, fonts are located by tapping keys 1 through 9 on your computer's keyboard.
- Key number 8 accesses the square font that was used in the 3D Rotating Cube tutorial.
- In PowerDirector's Title Designer, the max font size/value in the font size drop down menu, is 72.
- For a larger square, physically type a value of up to 127 in the font size box, then tap the Enter key on your keyboard.

If after reviewing all of the included READ ME text file info you find it still doesn't resolve your issues, then feel free to please contact me directly via a Youtube PM (Private Message) to PDtoots at... http://www.youtube.com/user/PDtoots
Or email me at...
cptvmail@gmail.com.

Regards,

-CP-
