High Resolution screen (3200x1800) - PowerDirector won't scale?

Quote: Hi -
I want to bump this issue up again. I just loaded PD11 onto my new Win 8.1 Dell XPS 15 laptop, running at the native/recommended 3200 x 1800 screen resolution. I updated to the latest version of PD11 and find that nothing has changed. PD still does not scale properly, even when changing the screen resolution settings, leaving the OS magnifier tool as the only way to see the 2mm tall menus and drop-down selections! Very disappointing. I don't have the real-estate to install a 32" monitor just to overcome this issue.
Has anyone figured out another workaround yet?
Jim

Hi Jim_MI,
Thanks for the bump. I doubt you'll see any change in PDR12 (certainly not PDR11). The User Interface (UI) for PDR12/11 is fixed around images etc and scaling-up, as you've found, doesn't happen. Whatever CyberLink has planned for the UI in PDR13/14, I'm sure they're now aware a change will have to take place to accommodate the higher pixel screen resolutions. We'll have to wait and see.
Just a comment.

So......basically we are all screwed if we have a High DPI laptop like the Yoga 2 Pro. Is that basically what you are saying?

I am using Lenovo yoga pro 2 and yesterday I bought powerdirector12. but it is impossible to work with these tiny small menus.

this problem was written first in januray 2014 and nothing has changed yet. no updates!!

what kind of a business is that? people should be warned before they purchase this product.

cyberlink must answer...

Powerdirector 13 is coming soon, maybe the Quad resolution display has been addressed. Fingers crossed.

It looks like PD 13 is out there. Has anyone tried the trial or paid version to see if it supports scaling??

I am having the same problem with my new laptop. I don't want to install it if it's not going to work for me.

Thanks

Wait a minute. I just ordered PD12, and I have yet to edit a single video. Are you saying I now have to upgrade to a newer version to get what I should have gotten to begin with?

If this is the case, then my purchase is like throwing money out the window.

PDR13 is the current version, PDR12 is the previous version. You get what you pay for. Mike B.

So here's the question. Does PD 13 solve the problem of scaling, or do we have to wait for PD14?

As much as I like PD, I may have to purchase another company's product to get one that functions as it should.

And this one too: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/40552.page#209237 . One user said it works on PD13. There are attached photos for one to view as comparison between 12 and 13.

Has this problem been addressed yet? Perhaps in version 13?

I purchased PowerDirector v.12 for my Yoga 2 Pro and have YET to edit one video with it because the menus are too small.

Powerdirector 13 is the first Powerdirector interface that is scalable.

Try the Trial.

The retail version is scalable.

Quote Just got a new Laptop with one of the new QHD screens (resolution is 3200x1800). Scaling in windows is set at 200% - which works well in most programs but PowerDirector mostly ignores this. Icons, text, etc are VERY small. Even setting the resolution at something lower (like 1920x1080) doesn't help.

Any fixes for us with the high res displays?

Thanks!

I have completely lost 1920x1080 in all formats ! Odd, has lots of lower resolution since about 2 updates ago in win 10

So, seems like it's been four years and the WaveEditor program still won't scale? Seems a bit careless - I want to use the program but can't see anything unless I'm three inches from my screen.

Anyone have any fixes? 200% zoom didn't do anything. Sony A6300 + Rode Micro
