If you have a newer digital camera, check to see if it has a converter in it.
Many newer cameras will allow a pass thru.
Like this...

VCR/Hi8>rca cables> into newer camera>IEEE or USB into computer.

Even if PD7 does not see it, Movie Maker will.

This all depends on you or a friend having a digital camera with the pass thru conversion capability. But you might already have the hardware you need. Join/SignUp to SeeMyWorldOnVideo. We're PowerDirector Video Editors. Are you a member? - JOIN TODAY!

I have Pinnacle MovieBox 510USB but dosen't work with PD7 ... I don't know why, it's working with all other movie software (Pinnacle Studio, Sony vegas ,etc ...) but PD7 crash every time I'm going in the capture tab and try to change the settings ...

No other suggestion ?

I have a KWorld DVD Maker USB 2.0 analogue capture connection device and it works a dream with PD7. The device costs a little over £20 ($40)

I have used it to connect my miniDV camera up - just as a test and it captures fine... no problem. This was video from the tape. There were just standard analogue play on the camera and record in PD controls. RCA connections for video and audio.

I have used it to capture a live broadcast signal from an FPV transmitted analogue device through an RX viewer display.

PD works just fine for me thanks with these two very different devices.

I used a simple laptop - 2.8 Ghz 512ram. Works for me.
