Hi Luca,

Yes, I am using the Pinnacle Movie Box 710 with much success so far. For some reason PD6 would not recognize the movie box, but was pleasantly pleased to see that PD7 does. Just don't install the Pinnacle Studio when installing the movie box drivers because you will likely have conflicts between Studio & PD7. I forgot how I did it, but I think I just copied over the drivers for the movie box.

Open up PD7 . . . click on capture . . . it should go out and recognize the movie box (be sure camera is on). Look to see that the capture from TV button is highlighted (3rd icon from left). On right side of screen, click on Profile and be sure that MPEG-1 is your choice (it will say VCD HQ in the box below Profile). That is the only setting that will let you import video and sound. Then just click on the red button and the play button on your analog camera! Works for me!

Your 710 is connected to your PC via USB ?
I don't have Pinnacle Studio on my PC only PD7; all is ON (the camera), the USB is connected to my PC; when I open the Capture function I can't see the TV icon highlighted that's was the problem ...

Yes, my movie box is connected via USB. Try another USB port on your computer - sometimes another USB port will recognize it.

After I sent you that post, I started working on my summer project of importing my analog video again. However, yesterday I updated a driver to that movie box as I had an older driver - BAD DECISION! PD7 would not recognize the movie box. Had to roll back to the driver that worked. Lesson learned - if it isn't broken, don't fix it!!! My point here is that maybe you need to update or roll back the current driver you are using for that movie box to be recognized. If you have to uninstall the driver and re-install it, be sure to install the driver before plugging in the movie box.

One other thing to check . . . down in the right corner of the capture screen, be sure to click on the settings and when that box opens, be sure to select the movie box for the analog capture. Maybe PD7 is defaulting your analog capture to your video card instead of the movie box.

Good luck,
Cindy

Very BAD news ...
I use Vista x64 and Pinnacle give me only one session of drivers 14.0.0.162
Vista recognize perfectly the MovieBox 510 but PD7 NOT
I tried my MovieBox on another PC with Sony VEgas Studio 8 and again dosen0t wotk, the software recognize the 510-USB but it can't capture anything from that
What type of error did you have with installed Pinnacle Studio and PD7 ?

Thanks

Luca

P.S. after some other test I understand what is the problem : PD7 !
YES I can't manage Settings in the Capture tab because PD7 crash every time I press Advanced Settings !
Maybe PD7 dosen't like Vista x64, or maybe there was a bug, sure the problem is PD7

Here is a site for updating movie box drivers for vista. I actually downloaded this file and installed it and tried it on my vista computer using PD7, but the TV screen that was lit up in XP was grayed out in Vista as you mentioned in your last post. I also have a webcam on my vista computer and PD7 seemed to want to recognize my webcam (which worked fine), but not the movie box. It actually recognized the movie box was there, but couldn't capture . . . . maybe there are some settings that aren't right, but that's beyond my knowledge!

As far as both Studio & PD on same computer, it just seemed like I had more crashes and freeze ups. PD - even though there are lots of complaints on this forum - is a much better product than Studio. I only used Studio to import files when I had PD6, but have not had any importing problems in PD7. I know that doesn't help you. . . . maybe you can "upgrade" back to XP . . .

Thanks Cindy, the link is exctly the plpace were I have downloaded my MovieBox drivers
After other test with my PC an other partition with again Vista x64 but with other software like Pinnalce Studio 11.1 and Sony Vegas Studio 8.0 I found that the problem is PD7
With the others programs MovieBox working good after some settings
With PD7 I tried all settings (with many many crash of PD7) but no one can manage correctly my MovieBox 510
Only one configuration can let me saw the image from my camera and MB 510 but the audio was realy corrupted and my CPU and memory was runiing at 100% ( ) and PD7 found MB510 like a WebCam really strange ...

I hope that someone on the forum can help me or can suggest me another HW to capture image from analog device with PD7
