As with another recent thread I can't get hardware acceleration working and its taking ages to render videos - much the same as PD11.

In the preferences box I can set "Enable AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing" but the "Enable Hardware Decoding" is greyed out.

On the Produce screen all the acceleration options are greyed out.

My hardware spec is in my signature below. PowerDirector 12 Build 2420
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit
Dell Studio XPS 7100 AMD Phenom II x6 1035T 2.6Ghz with 8 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5770 video card graphics card
Hauppauge Colossus capture card and "Capture" software

You have the same video card I have.

Do you have the Catalyst 13.9 driver installed?
Most of the time I chose to not use Hardware acceleration.

With the Nature.mpg sample video on the timeline three times:
HA depends on what video format you are producing. I have HA available for AVC, WMV, MP4, and MKV. All 1920x1080/30p/60i.

Under that select Software

Some users have reported getting digital artifacts using Hardware acceleration, but I haven't seen any. Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit

Why do you not use hardware acceleration Carl?

One word 'artifacts'.

I would rather take a little more time to use CPU rendering instead of having to render a second time if I get artifacts.

There are times when my Hardware Acceleration on WMV works well, but you never know when it will and it won't.

Barry, NVidia does not support HA on WMV. AMD does not support HA on MPEG-2.
After all it is the driver that determines what support there is.
