ok let's say I have five minutes of pictures on my timeline. I select a preview of a magic style or magic movie. have all the pictures selected,... but when I see the applied ( finished) product, some of the pictures are repeated over and over,... and some never show up in the finished product at all. I want them all to show, that's why I highlight them ALL. Thanks

Hi mrmusic -

A huge advantage of PD12 over previous versions is Theme Designer

Whether you've used Magic Style or Magic Movie Wizard, you can edit the contents (remove, replace, re-order clips or images) in Theme Designer.

If it's already in the timeline, just right click & select "Edit in Theme Designer". In Magic Movie you can do those tweaks during the process.

Did you set your preferred duration in Magic Movie? That will affect how much of the content is repeated/left out.

Cheers - Tony

Thank You Tony.... I will try that. I think what I produced yesterday to post in FaceBook was in Magic Style. But I did have ALL the pictures highlighted, so I would have thought it would have used them all. (at least ONE time) Have a blessed New Year! You will no doubt see me here again!

As an amendment to my original inquiry... today I took 137 pictures, put them on the time line... noticed the time of the entire line (11:20) Selected them all, selected Magic Style "Grid (with transitions)" ... applied the style, and within the first two minutes of watching the finished product, I had seen the same three pictures (out of 137) over 15 times. I see no way, or place to change that, so it sort of makes the whole feature a bit redundant imo. Any help out there??????

Tony, your suggestion may have merit in Magic Movie (I didn't try that....) but I don't see any options in Magic Style, and to me the way it's working doesn't make any sense. .....

Anyone?

Hi again -

Yes - I concur! The way that particular style template arranges photos leaves a bit to be desired!

I put 50 numbered images in the timeline and ran Magic Style > Grid (with Transitions) and it repeatedly & predictably followed the same sequence.

The images were displayed like this:
46 45 50 48 47 49 46 45 1 50 2 48 47 50 49 48 47 3 50 49 3 47
46 45 50 5 48 47 50 49 48 47 50 49 6 47 46 45 50 8 48 47 50
49 48 5 47 9 50 49 9 47 46 45 50 10 48 47 50 49 48 47 10

The same thing happened using Magic Movie Wizard > Grid (with Transitions)... the squence is heavily weighted to particular photos and completely ignores others. If you happen to like 45 - 50, all good... but if you were partial to anything between 11 & 44 you'd be up against it!

On a happier note, I was able to use Theme Designer to remove the excessive repetitions & include the previously neglected photos while still maintaining the visual arrangement.

Cheers - Tony

Tony, I assume you are referencing magic movie... and not magic style... correct? there's no way to edit the magic style is there? btw, can you tell me what the difference is? are they essentially the same? can you make a similar production with the slideshow app? Thanks

It doesn't matter whether it's Magic Style or Magic Movie - they're both editable in Theme Designer by right clicking on the "finished" product in the timeline.
