Build 1628 vs Build 1714

Should I be upgrading to build 1714? I was lucky enough to download a good copy of build 1628a and did not encounter any of the problems that the others faced on this forum as far as download problems.

However, I, too, am having a problem with the scene detection when importing video. I don't want to mess up the current build that I have now, but want to see if this scene detection "bug" can be fixed and to see if there are any other "bugs" that would be fixed by installing build 1714.

Shouldn't Cyberlink provide the 1714 patch in my member area if it is to be available to everyone? Nothing has shown up in my member area yet as far as allowing me to update to this latest patch.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Cindy

Hi Cindy,

Yes, you should upgrade to build 1714, it contains a lot of fixes, scene detection bug has still not been fixed but Cyberlink are working on it. Contact Technical support for a link to download.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the info. I sent them a message and will hopefully get a link soon.

Just curious, any specific bugs that this new build fixed that I haven't encountered yet (other than the scene detection that wasn't fixed)?

Hi Cindy,

To be honest, I am unable to say exactly what changes have been included, I obtained build 1714 the day it was released, so did not have much time to evaluate build 1628a, most of my evaluations were carried out on the Beta versions.
I can say that build 1714 does appear to be more stable, not yet as stable as PD6, but Cyberlink are working on it. The main change that affects me and most other users is that build 1714 now includes fade in/out on PiP's

Regards
