I clicked on "burn" to make my DVD, and this message comes up:

"either a thumbnail (menu caption) or the navigation buttons are currently overlapping. Try adjusting them for the disc format."

....I never see this message when making a standard DVD. Does this message have something to do with the fact that I'm burning as an AVCHD? The settings Im using are "widescreen" and "HD 1920 X 1080".

I was advised making an AVCHD would be best to maintain my HD footage on the final DVD without having to burn to a Blu-Ray, which is why I'm using AVCHD.

Thanks to anyone with advice! dinopet

How many navigation buttons do you have on the submenu pages? Did you move them around? The buttons are a lot bigger than they look. Remember that you are limited to about 45 minutes or less so you cannot load them down with a lot of video. Time (not size) is the limiting factor.

Could you post a screen shot of the page with the problems?

I have not had that issue when making AVCHD discs but I usually keep them for one longer video project. .

I have one "root" page with only a play button and a "scenes" button. The next menu page has 6 chapter "buttons" (picture windows...since that's what it forces you to use- still don't know how to remove those). that's it! Plus the oveall runtime is 26 minutes (from one video file). Not long at all.

As far as I could tell the chapter "buttons" (picture activators ---not sure they should be called "buttons") are not even touching one another.

So it is very strange I get the error message. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and burn a regular DVD?

Sorry I can't post screen shots right now, maybe later tonight.

Thanks. dinopet

here are my pages, AFTER I made the picture windows much smaller (on the chapter/scenes page). Some of them were overlapping (the frame when you selected one overlapped where the frame of another would be), but the windows themselves never overlapped. Could that be the issue?

HUH? The way I read your post is that you did find some overlaps and took care of them. Is that correct? Is it OK now?

What is that "3" just underneath the aircraft? Why does it look differently from one and two? That sure doesn't look like the root menu to me. Usually it just has two options - Play and Scenes. It should no links to the other navigation. It looks like the scenes menu.
