I have BD rips (straight BDMV folders) on my upstairs pc. I am trying to play them on my downstairs HTPC. Last night the movie playback was not smooth. It seems to drop a frame every 5 or 10 seconds. It was like a skip but there was no audio drop or anything. It was like a single frame was removed. Is this that 24fps bug I heard about?

I just set up my pdvd13 media library. For the movie folder locations, I just selected the folders on the upstairs pc (\\upstpc\brrips).
Is this the recommended method? I did notice it took about 5 minutes before a fresh rip showed up.

the 2 pc's are connected with fresh cat6 cable through a new gigabit switch.

I did get a new video card. Perhaps that's the culprit?

I should also note that when I tried playing the movie again, it showed that warning message about the refresh rate not matching. This did not show up the first time.

After hitting yes, I noticed that the audio was out of sync anh my cpu utilization was pretty high due to some dlmediaparser process running.

uggh. My system might be a mess.
