I have imported mpeg 4 (H.264 AVC) files to make a video.

then it pop up this message:

Media Source Error [Error Code 2]:
A media file in your project may not fully comply with the file format standard, or your system may lack the required decoding components for this file. Please try again using another media file format.

after i checked from the official website, this software need at least 2GB RAM. But i am using Windows Vista with 1.5GB RAM.

that is what i think the problem is.

i am editing it now after it produced the shadoweditedfile.

and i cant export the video.

can i export after i move to a higher RAM computer?

i have lots of edition inside, i scare that it does not work.

it is my final assignment.

is anyone faced this problem before? or any technician here?

what is actually the shadoweditedfile ?

Are you using a trial version? This, from Cyberlink...

" Restrictions of H.264 video in PowerDirector Trial version:
H.264 video import or output in the trial version is limited to PCs with hardware acceleration.

To import H.264 (MTS, M2TS, MOV, MP4) video, a graphics card that supports H.264 decoding is required.
To output H.264 (AVC H.264, MPEG-4) video, a graphics card that supports H.264 encoding is required.
You can output non-HD progressive H.264 (AVC H.264, MPEG-4) video using the Windows 7 built-in H.264 encoder if the graphics card does not support H.264 encoding.

If you are not able to output H.264 video, please contact your graphics card vendor and check if the card supports H.264 hardware encoding."

That may be yet another problem. Video editing is resource intensive, and your PC appears to be lacking.

I am editing it now after it produced the shadow file. What is actually the shadow edit file

From the HELP file...

"Enable HD video processing (shadow file): select this to speed up the editing of high definition video by enabling CyberLink PowerDirector to process the file faster. Enabling this consumes more CPU resources."

And I cant export the video.

To what are you attempting to export - to a file? If not, try that.

Can I export after I move to a higher RAM computer?

Perhaps. Save your project (PDS file) and pack the media (FILE|EXPORT|PACK PROJECT materials).
Then, at least, you may be able to revive the film after a PC upgrade.

the minimum requirement is 2GB, it's time to get some RAM.
