Discovered another minor irritant in PD12.

When selecting Fix/Enhance: At the top of the sub-window a link button to PhotoDirector is available. However, when it's selected it says that it's not installed and attempts to SELL you on a new version. I have an older version of PhotoDirector installed. It looks like a very sheepish way to sell software !

I have Powerdirector 12 Ultra. It is the only PD 12 install.

I just tried your Fix/Enhance and clicked on the PhotoDirector button.

PhotoDirector 4 opened with the image I had on the Timeline.
I have a previous install of PhotoDirector 4 on the computer, it is a part of the Powerdirector 11 Suite.

On my System no problem and no sales pitch.

Carl,

Thanks for verifying the problem. In my case Photodirector 3 is installed in the 32 bit section of Windows. And it's still sad to see such poor functionality. Even Google's Picasa is better at making available any and all photo editors for use ! Win 10, i7

Same here, not nice. Mind you, you could still do the edit with PhotoDirector 3 outside of PD and insert it back in: I know, shouldn't be so complicated. I7-4770, 3.40Ghz, 16GB RAM, Asus Z87-Plus Z87chipset, Sapphire ATI Radeon HD7850 PCI Express-16 3.0 2GB, Samsung EVO 840 SSD 1TB

What version of PD are you using ?
I don't have Photo Director installed yet.

Have you tried uninstalling and then re-installing Photo Director to get it to be recognized?

Rob,

If you're a gold or higher member, PhotoDirector 3 is a free download from your member page. The problem for PD12 is that version 3 is 32 bit, not 64 and PD12 was not designed to detect it's presence, which is very poor on CL's part. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Google's Picasa recognizes ALL photo editors on the system. And it works well ! Win 10, i7

Oh, yeah- now I see it- Photo Director 3 is given as a freebie in the Exclusive Benefits section of my login.

Yeah a bit sneaky to get you to upgreade- but hey it was a freebie after all.

I just downloaded it. I might install it, then upgrade to the latest version 5 at a bigger discount.
Heck, wait till the Black Friday sales around the US thanksgiving in a few weeks and get it for an even better deal.
