I downloaded a movie from Youtube that is 25 frames per second. I would like to burn it to a bluray disc. When I placed the video on the timeline I got a warning that my preferences are set for 30 frames per second. Can I just burn this video to a disc as it is or do I need to produce it to a different frame rate before I can burn the disc.
I am in the United states.

thanks, Windows 10 professional

Powerdirector will convert the 25 frames per second video to 30 frames per second when you create your Disk.

It will do that because you have your TV Format set to NTSC (30 Frames per Second).
PD does that by adding extra frames to make up the 5 frames per second difference in frame rate.

Carl.

What if in the future I have some video at 25fps and some at 30fps in the same project? Will it add frames to the 25fps video and leave the 30fps video alone?

thanks, Windows 10 professional

thanks,

It should.

If you want to see the SVRT information, View > SVRT Information (Alt+S). That will show what needs rendering and what does not.

If you use SVRT, nothing is changed where no changes in the video.
The output is determined by the TV Format set in Preferences > General. And the format chosen.

You could have 25 fps and 24 fps and 30 fps video on the timeline and output 30 fps video.
Or you could output PAL (25 fps) if you change the preferences.

Hi Carl

Preferences also has NTSC 60fps? Is this the setting I would use if I shoot 1080/60p with my camcorder rather than 1080/60i. My Panasonic camcorder can record either way. And if this is the case and I had both 1080p and 1080i on the timeline would the 1080i be converted to 1080p?

thanks again Windows 10 professional

If you output profile you have selected is progressive the output would be 1080/60p or 1080/30p.
Some of the AVC profiles are interlaced.

It is a try it and see the results. You can test with short clips, a few seconds is enough to test.

Making those clips is easy, point and record for 5 to 10 seconds, stop. Do that with each camera setting you use.
You will have test clips that are unique to your system.
