Hello,
I bought and installed PD 12. I "can import media WMV but I still can not produce media WMV whatever type
profile. SVRT and Hardware video encoder are grayed out and therefore inaccessible.

Hi,
From the Dxdiag file you supplied your c: drive hasn't much free space available...I am surprised you can edit videos ....PD requires a lot of cahe space.

James and Papido,
the C: drive space topic just re-emerged. The need for 100 GB has been de-bunked.
Papido, I remember you, you had an issue with WMV before, correct?
Have you ever Googled for an answer. Maybe Microsoft has an idea for you, or another more general video/computer forum. not being able to make a WMV is very weird.

Padido,

You are wondering why the SVRT & Hardware acceleration are not selectable when using output format WMV to Produce?

Check here: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/29236.page

Not all formats allow you to use the SVRT & Hardware acceleration settings.
(It looks like PD 12, like PD 11- still does not support the Hardware acceleration while using WMV with an nVidia graphics card.)

Hello there ,

I allow to boost(relaunch) this subject:

For more than a year, I am unable to produce my videos in WMV. The same thing for the on-line production. Always the same message although I am up to date for WMP, Quicktime and my graphics board.

A new user or our contributors will have maybe an idea???????

Have you tried re-installing PowerDirector 12?

Re-install means remove Powerdirector, then Install Powerdirector.
That will cause all of the parts of Powerdirector to be properly installed.

During the install, any questions about installing Smartsound and/or QuickTime, answer Yes or OK.
Both are necessary parts of Powerdirector.

Hello,

I have already reinstalled PD12 of numerous times. Only yesterday by installing(settling) the continuation(suite) PD12. Some concerns(marigolds) on this occasion because the version inclusive PD12 is not the Ultimate version. I thus uninstalled again PD12 and reinstalled my Ultimate version by answering "YES" for the installation of Smartsound.
Conclusion: always impossible to produce in WMV and on-line whether it is YouTube or Viméo.
Other ideas???

Since both Vimeo and YouTube will do a conversion from other formats (like H264) to be placed on their sites, why do you want to convert to wmv beforehand? Is it a size issue?

Are you going to use the wmv on you own web page?

What happens when you select to produce to wmv. Are you getting any error messages? Do you have Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player 9 or better on your computer (for the codecs)?

Double check this page to make sure that your computer meets all the requirements;
http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-ultimate/spec_en_US.html

By the way, set you display font to 100% = 96 dpi.

Do you have the Windows Media Player version 9 or above installed?

Windows 8/8.1 did not include Windows Media Player, but you can download and install from Microsoft.

I have never made the link enter to produce in WMV and to produce on-line.
When I want to produce an assembly (whatever is the size(format) of videos source) in a file WMV, I always have the message (see higher). Besides when I want to produce on-line an assembly towards Youtube or Viméo or the other one, I also have this message.

Your error message mentions QuickTime and Media Player.

You can update or install QuickTime:

French version:
http://www.apple.com/fr/quicktime/download/

The message also says something about a different video format. (I don't read French). But I can read the English words.

My Quicktime version is up to date (7.75.80.95).
That my videos source(spring) are MP4, Mpg, M2ts or others, the production in WMV is impossible ( indicated message).

You keep ignoring the request to update Windows Media Player. WHAT VERSION DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER?

You have been having the problem since PD9? That's is a pretty long time. Have you ever raised the question with Tech Support?

What operating system do you have?

There should be French technical support from Cyberlink.

They have many languages.

French web site, should have technical support. I do not read French.

I have watched this thread with interest as WMV is just so common I cannot believe your computer cannot produce it.
Do you have Windows Movie Maker installed? If not, please install it and see if you can produce a WMV, as a test. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Hello,

I have just installed(settled) Windows Movie Maker. I proceeded to two attempts:
File MP4 HD produces in WMV size(format) DVD.
File WMV HD produces in the same WMV HD size(format).

Set apart the slowness extrème, the production works.

Before de-installing Windows Movie Maker, I opened PD12 and the production in WMV does not still work. Win7 64bits Pro OEM - i7-3820 3.6 GHz - GeForce GTX 660

Did you ever install Windows Media Player 9 as I suggested in one of my earlier posts? .
